Family Adventure Day: South Surrey

I love checking out a new part of the Lower Mainland and exploring a neighborhood I wouldn't normally explore. I put together this list of activities in South Surrey based on the fact that a trip to the Fairy Forest alone is worth the drive.

Fairy Kingdom

I am always so charmed by kindness rocks and fairy houses, and in Redwood park is bursting with these whimsical treasures. If your kids have loved painting and finding forest treasures then I highly encourage a trip to the Fairy Kingdom.

This park also has over 5k of forest trails to walk and explore, and a playground too!

Sunnyside Park

Redwood Park does have a play structure, but while you are in the area Blumsen and Sunnyside are both worth a visit.

Sunnyside Park

Centennial Park

Ok ok, technically this is in White Rock not South Surrey. But since you've driven all this way, this is an amazing park I've blogged about before. It was designed with all ages and abilities in mind and there are lots of fun features like a zip line for babies!

South Surrey Athletic Park Splash Park

If it's a hot day, pack your swim suit and cool off at this great splash park just a short drive away.

Branches Coffee House & My Shanti by Vikram Vij

I am fairly sure there is a rule that family exploring days *require* an ice cream stop. Branched has freshly made baked goods, lunch options and of course ice cream. And it's attached to a plant shop so you cold leave with some succulents in addition to your succulent treats.

My Shanti may not be the typical family restaurant, but if you're in the area for dinner and your kids can sit nicely through a meal, why not treat yourself? Or ick something up for dinner on your way home, you'll be glad you did.

3 Dogs Brewing

If you're from the Tri-Cities I feel like there is a decent chance you like craft beer. 3 Dogs is a great choice in the area, and there is NO POSSIBLE WAY their patio could be busier than the Port Moody Breweries on a sunny day.
