Something really cool has just arrived in Oakdale Park. Be sure to drop by this quiet spot that is great for toddlers to enjoy the new Little Free Equipment Library.
Coquitlam City Councilor Teri Towner Explains:
"Today was the 8th annual Oakdale Neighbour Day as well as the Grand Re-Opening of the new & improved Oakdale Park. It was also the launch of our city’s first Little Free Equipment Library! The concept is modeled after the little free book libraries but is for sport and play equipment! These “libraries” are non-flammable and anti-graffiti (non-graffitiable? 😆). 12 more equipment libraries will be popping up in various Coquitlam parks 🌲🏀⚽️ Stay tuned! "
There is something similar in Waterfront Commons Park in Pitt Meadows and it is super fun. I love initiatives like this one because not only are they fun, borrowing and sharing are great for the environment. Reduce, reuse, recycle - and share!
Photos below are courtesy of Terri's Instagram account, a big thanks to her for letting me share them!
I'm looking forward to checking out this park soon!
