Rocky Point

Rocky Point has it all: ocean views, two beautiful new play structures, washrooms, a spray park, a pool, grassy fields and the best in-park food you'll find in the Tri-Cities: Rocky Point Ice Cream and Pajo's Fish & Chips. Steps from the Port Moody Breweries and the Skytrain this park is in an excellent location in one of the most beautiful spots in the area. The Pier and trails around the water offer lots of great photo opportunities, and many community events take place here including the Summer Sundays Concert Series, Golden Spike Days and Ribfest.

Unfortunately this park is a bit of a victim of it's own success. On sunny weekend afternoons it is so busy many people avoid it. Parking is a nightmare, and while there are plenty of benches and lots of shade they can be hard to come by. If my family goes, it's normally very early in the morning and we take transit there.

I've also heard a few parents lament that the new ship-themed play structure has poor viability (a big drawback for a busy park) and isn't as fun and challenging for older kids when compared to other parks.

Still this park has so much to offer it does need to be on your bucket list for a summer visit.
